Second International Handbook of Educational Change (Springer International Handbooks of Education) Feature

The two volumes of the second edition of the International Handbook of Educational Change comprise a totally new, and updated collection of the most critical and cutting-edge ideas in educational change.

Written by the most influential thinkers in the field, these volumes cover educational change at both the theoretical and practical levels. The updated handbook remains connected to the classical concerns of the field, such as educational innovation, reform, and change management, and also offers new insights into educational change that have been brought about by social change and shifting contexts of educational reform. Like the first best selling Handbook, this one will also undoubtedly become an essential resource for people involved in all spheres of education, from classroom teachers, teacher leaders and administrators to educational researchers, curriculum developers, and university professors. No other work provides such a wide-ranging and comprehensive examination of the field of educational change.

Information Operations: All Information, All Languages, All the Time

Information Operations: All Information, All Languages, All the Time Review

Information Operations: All Information, All Languages, All the Time Feature

My personal view is that the key points of the book are that:

• inter-agency sharing of non-secret information is much more important than precision delivery of secrets to the top guy;

• unclassified information on operations, logistics, beliefs, etc. is much more important that technical secret information; and

• there is a larger process called "Information Operations" (IO) that has been mis-defined in the US as offensive cyberwar and PSYOP on steroids, which in fact deals with

• the full and constant integration of global coverage in all languages all the time (including historical and cultural knowledge at the neighborhood level);

• the technologies of sharing, translating, and understanding; inclusive of online video gaming; and

• the crafting of inter-agency BEHAVIOR and BUDGETS (means) in order to achieve useful ends.

In short, it's not about secret intelligence; it is about global awareness and ethical behavior done across all the instruments of national power, wisely. As Dr. Cambone demands, we need universal coverage, 24/7, at sub-state levels of granularity, but we also need to act on that information in a timely as well as ethical manner, utilizing all of our resources, not just our military, and harmoniously integrating our intelligence and operational activities with those of other legitimate governments and non-governmental organizations.

How Markets Really Work: A Quantitative Guide to Stock Market Behavior Feature

Published for the very first time ever. Over 850 practical, easy-to-use historical probabilities on the most commonly traded market scenarios!

For years, traders and investors have been using unproven assumptions about popular patterns such as breakouts, momentum, new highs, new lows, market breadth, put/call ratios and more without knowing if there is a statistical edge.

Have you ever wondered the following...

Do these patterns actually make you money? Read on and you'll be surprised by what 15 years of new, previously unpublished research reveals.

Is there a radically different, better way to trade these patterns and indicators that somehow has escaped the awareness of traders and investors? You'll find the answers below...

The answers to both of these questions and much more is contained in Larry Connors' new book, How Markets Really Work. Through new research, much of which has never before been published, you will be able to clearly see which of nearly 850 meticulously researched patterns and indicators have an edge -- and which do not. Best of all, you will be able to apply this information whenever you trade.

Here's how you can use How Markets Really Work in your trading every day. Learn how to focus on trades that have the best edge and stop trading setups that have zero edge. Every time you trade, just look up the current market action in the book so that you can potentially maximize your winning trades while weeding out the losing ones.

Gain an edge that many traders and professional traders do not have. Most traders will continue to operate according to incorrect conventional wisdom because much of it "seems to make sense." But by using How Markets Really Work as your daily reference guide, you will be able to take advantage of market behaviors that consistently repeated themselves over and over again in the past.

Use it to better time your entries and exits into stocks and ETFs. Many times the trading system or methodology you are using will tell you to enter or exit a trade into price action that matches one of the patterns listed in How Markets Really Work. When this occurs, it's a great opportunity for you to fine tune your actions so that statistical probabilities are working in your favor and not against you.

The knowledge contained in How Markets Really Work can be used in developing your very own systems and strategies. Whether you are a system developer or you just want to improve your existing trading strategy, you can use the core knowledge in this book to stimulate your own research and create new systems.

Impact your trading with never-before-seen research on put/call ratios, price movement, breadth indicators, large one-day moves, volume and much, much more. Whether you use these indicators or not, you will finally be able to make informed decisions about their true value to your trading. Each Chapter Of How Markets Really Work Is Backed By Up To 15 Years Of Historical Results!

Making the Play: How to Get the Best of Baseball Back

Making the Play: How to Get the Best of Baseball Back Review

Making the Play: How to Get the Best of Baseball Back Feature

Baseball is in trouble. Yes, revenue has never been higher, attendance has never been better, and baseball has never had a stronger international presence. But the game has rarely faced more significant problems: Steroid scandals, management-labor rifts, self-centered superstars, a dramatic decline in the number of African American players and fans, constraints on youth baseball fields and resources, and competition from other sports and entertainment options all threaten the foundations of our national pastime.

Dave Winfield knows and loves the game and he believes baseball can be rescued and revitalized. A respected role model and ambassador of the sport, Winfield outlines his strategy for making baseball the game he knows it can be: inclusive, empowering, and entertaining. He focuses on how to make the game more fan-friendly, and especially how to reach out to the African American community. From the commissioner's office to the kids on the street, Winfield examines the game from every perspective, offering ideas and solutions for diversifying front offices; marketing the game; developing community-based programs; and working out fair, creative, and lucrative parameters for the business of baseball. Making the Play inspires readers to get out of the armchair and into the action.

Jump the Curve: 50 Essential Strategies to Help Your Company Stay Ahead of Emerging Technologies Review

Jump the Curve: 50 Essential Strategies to Help Your Company Stay Ahead of Emerging Technologies Feature

"Jump the Curve" will show how exponential trends in eight areas - computers, data storage, bandwidth, software development, gene sequencing, robotics, nanotechnology, and the advance of knowledge itself - are transforming the global economy and altering our future. The book then proceeds in a easy-to-understand (non-technical) style to describe the eight essential elements that business executives and their organisations can - and must - incorporate into their planning in order to deal with today's explosive and emerging economy including: leveraging today's technology to meet tomorrow's needs; developing counter-intuitive thought skills; tapping into the power of diversity; and, "Learning to unlearn."While scores of books from "The World is Flat" to "The Tipping Point" have done excellent jobs of explaining the effect of accelerating technologies, "Jump the Curve" defines the nature of technological change itself and shows readers how they, and their organisations can benefit from the knowledge.
